The Eve of Imbolc

On the eve of Imbolc, it is said that the Goddess Brigid travels the land. When she sees a prayer cloth or shawl draped over a bush, tied to a tree, or left on a doorstep, she will stop and give it her blessing.

This cloth, known as “Bratach Brid”, is imbued with healing powers which will become more powerful if it is left to be charged every year. This cloth should become a sacred relic used in rituals of healing and fertility.

We have also found that ribbons left out for blessings are quite useful in spells and items used for healing purposes. As always, results may vary.
